We’ve always promised that philanthropy will be central to Long Grain’s success and with this in mind we’re thrilled to confirm our first charitable commitment.

It’s to a cause that is working hard to remedy a significant issue faced by many. More than 180,000 Cambodians are blind, yet 90 per cent of blindness is avoidable, 79 per cent is curable and 11 per cent is preventable. We’re honoured to be supporting the pioneering work of the Khmer Sight Foundation – a foundation co-founded by Sean.

The foundation is working tirelessly to train the next generation of eye care professionals in Cambodia so that the country can move forwards and become self-reliant in the provision of eye care in a bid to eliminate avoidable sight loss.

Its mission is to provide clinical training that is recognised by overseas professional bodies. Together with the Cambodia International Sight Association it is coordinating international efforts to assist Cambodia in improving the vision, eye care available and restore the gift of sight to many thousands of Cambodians.

We’re passionate about doing the right thing for our farming family and our community and we promise this will be the first of many charity alliances we announce.
